The Crown

How music can totally change a scene

CLIENT:
Netflix

ROLE:
Motion Designer

This was a particularly challenging and rewarding process for me as a musician because we unfortunately were not able to get the individual stems for each track of the music which could have helped drive the animation, and so instead, I had manually keyframe each element by trying to isolate each instrument on the final track by ear.

With the help of the composer of The Crown, this video essay helped to explain the intention and complexity of the many layers of instrumentation that went into a single scene of the show.

I was tasked with designing the individual elements that would represent the instruments on screen and how they would build and layer on top of each other to create the final piece at the end of the video.
